Jyotish Acharya means Master of Astrology. It is a Post-Graduate degree awarded at Sanskrit Universities in India where Traditional Sanskriet Subjects are taught as per the norms of UGC under subject code 73A. Apart from this, Jyotish Acharya means a lot. Mastering astrology is not a simple job. Besides ages of calculations, astrology has a huge number of textbooks which are much more important to study for each and every horoscope as there is never a horoscope repeated. Being an astrologer is the simplest job now a days but being an honest and successful astrologer is very far from those who claim to be. In last 20 years, astrology has been generalized and everyone claims that he knows a bit of astrology. But it goes beyond surprise that poupular and prestigious institutions started to generalize this master-subject as simply as cooking. Now a days you will very often come across people who call themselves Jyotish Alankar, Jyotish Ratna, Jyotish Teertha, Jyotish Bhushan, Jyotish Samrat, Jyotish Maharishi and even Jyotish Acharya. These are however very basic and honorary titles those could be bought even without attending classes. Theoritically they claim to be general awareness courses (thus not collegiate education), people who buy or get it, claim majorly to be astrologer. This is good for their self-satisfaction but what will happen to the public who is getting operated by a doctor who has never been at a medical school. There are lots to say, but simply we will say, there is a big difference between a machenic and engineer. So from now, when you come across a Jyotish Acharya, simply ask, Real or Fake ?
